A large aperture, robust 10" telescope optical tube assembly. The classic reflector, ideal for astrophotography and visual observing.
The classic reflector design that is simple, robust and easy to use. Newtonians give you a large aperture at an affordable price. High quality optics, a precise Linear Bearing Crayford focuser, a rigid steel tube and short focal length make these telescopes ideal for astrophotography as well as visual observing.
The 10 inch (254mm) primary mirror collects 56% more light than an 8". Images are bright. Planetary nebulae will be full of details that cannot be seen in smaller scopes. Galaxies will reveal their spiral arms. Planets and the moon can be viewed in stunning detail. The limit on what you can see will not be the telescope, it will be the observing conditions.
GSO mirrors are made from optical quality BK7 glass and are limited only by diffraction, which means they achieve the theoretical maximum resolution possible for the size of the mirror. They are machined and polished to better than 1/12 wavelength, sometimes 1/16 wavelength, which is considerably better than the industry norm.
Apart from the quality of the optics, this telescope has a number of features that sets it apart. The steel tube gives much more stability than inferior aluminium models. The Linear Bearing Crayford focuser gives more precise eyepiece alignment. And there is enough back focus that you can attach a standard DSLR camera for astrophotography.
This is the optical tube assembly only, and does not include the mount or eyepieces.
